AlfeNet's advanced monitoring systems constantly check your server and services for uptime 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. If a server or service problem or malfunction is detected, we proactively begin working to correct the issue and bring everything back online.
AlfeNet unique monitoring system provides multiple levels of monitoring to ensure that your server has maximum uptime. These systems run both internally and externally of your server for redundancy.
At the network level, we employ both service and server monitoring. Your server and all of the services you have selected in your Grove account are checked for availability every 5 minutes. If a problem is detected, our staff is immediately paged so they can begin correcting the issue. This is done automatically without needing your intervention. At the server level, we install various custom software packages which detect processes which have failed or hung and attempts to restart them. In case the service does not restart, it begins checking for various common problems, fixes any found problems, and restarts the service. In case it cannot restart the services or fix the issue, our support staff is notified so they can began working on correcting the issue. Hardware health is also tested and our staff is notified of any problems, such as a failed disk in a RAID array, before system health can be seriously impacted.
At the software level, we also provide a variety of performance metrics in Grove. These include server load, CPU usage, disk I/O and memory usage, Apache performance, and more. These graphs are provided for your informational and capacity-planning purposes and can be used by our staff in diagnosing issues.
Our application management package also additionally offers service-response monitoring as well more detailed system performance metrics and metric threshold responses.
